We begin by acknowledging that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, Odawa and Potawatomie Peoples.

To recognize the land is an expression of gratitude to those whose territory you reside on, and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial.

We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations and all the Original Peoples of Turtle Island.

  And further that the Essex County Charity Tax Rebate Program established under By-law 16-2007 continue with no amendments.

Award of Contract for Engineering Services for the County Road 22 Design and Contract Administration

• Recommendation:

  That Essex County Council receive Report 2023-0405-IPS-R10-AB and approve the award of a contract to BT Engineering Inc., for the detailed design and contract administration of County Road 22 from I.C. Roy Drive to West Belle River Road in the amount of $1,396,643 (plus applicable taxes).

  And further that the shortfall of $96,754 to the 2023 Budget be funded from the Roadway Expansion Reserve, if necessary.

• Recommendation:

  That Essex County Council receive Report 2023-0405-IPS-R09-AB and award a contract for the purchase of a Komatsu GD655 Road Grader, to Equipment Sales & Services Ltd., in the amount of $459,900 (plus applicable taxes).
