The committee discussed the communication items presented. Of particular interest, was a discussion surrounding Bill C-81, the Accessible Canada Act.

Facebook
 

The committee discussed topics for posting to their Facebook page. The Chair noted that personal posts, such as the recent post of Ms. Kirkbride, garnered positive results. The committee will post information in relation to medical services and the March of Dimes' assistive devices program.

Accessibility Awareness Walk Update
 

Ms. Trombley provided the committee with the proposed budget for this year's accessibility walk. The committee discussed options for marketing and promotion and directed administration to consider digital alternatives for advertisements. In addition, the committee expressed a desire to ensure that all local accessibility committees were informed in advance in hopes of their participation as well as that of local councils and County Council.
