Call to Order

 

The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:03 PM.

Land Acknowledgement Statement

 

We acknowledge the land on which the County of Essex is located is the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, Odawa and Potawatomie Peoples. 


We specifically recognize Caldwell First Nation and other First Nations which have provided significant historical and contemporary contributions to this region. 


We also value the contributions of all Original Peoples of Turtle Island, who have been living and working on this land from time immemorial.

Recording of Attendance

 

Members of the Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee attended the meeting at the Essex County Civic Centre Council Chambers.

Rachel Jewell was absent.

Guests from the Town of Essex Accessibility Advisory Committee and Administration were present in Chambers.

Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest

 

There were no conflicts of pecuniary interest declared.

Outdoor Accessibility Fest-for-All Update

 

Crystal Sylvestre welcomed the guests from the Town of Essex Administration and Accessibility Advisory Committee and thanked them for their support of the event being held at the Town of Essex park in Colchester.

Crystal provided an update of the event plans including a list of exhibitors, the schedule of events and reviewed the site plan.

County of Essex Communications team would be orchestrating a communications plan to advertise the event on the County website and through the County and ECAAC social media platforms pending approval of the plans.

The ECAAC approved the plans to date and would have the opportunity to review the final plan at the September meeting.
