Mr. Boyko advised that Mr. Queen would be arriving late. Ms. Easterbrook was unable to attend.

Discussion took place with regards to the communications items.

Discussion took place regarding posting to the ECAAC Facebook page. The posting is happening regularly and mostly through Ms. Cobby and Ms. Easterbrook.

November 7, 2018 at 7:00PM

Ms. Trombley discussed the November 7, 2018 ECAAC delegation at County Council. She noted that members will be able to present a recap of the activities that have taken place over the past term.

Discussion took place regarding what the committee would present. It was decided that the following would be the order for the delegation:

Ms. Easterbrook - Introduction and Facebook 

Mr. Boyko - National Access Awareness Week activities

Ms. Lecuyer - 1st Accessibility Awareness Walk

Mr. Wimperis - Accessibility Workshops

Ms. Alexander - Partnership in the Community with Heroes Basketball

Mr. Queen - Committee Wrap-up and Thank you

Tour and Feedback Letter

Mr. Boyko led the group in a review of the recommended considerations in the letter to ERCA.

It was noted that some additional areas of consideration could be included:

  • addition of a paved area outside the camping facilities for wheelchair access.
  • ensuring that the trailer maintenance area (for flushing/cleanout) is at a level that is adequate for an individual using a wheelchair to operate.

    That the advisory letter be approved and forwarded to Essex Region Conservation Authority for their consideration.

Essex-Windsor EMS has partnered with the Federal Government, Interdev, Lambton County, and Grey County on developing the SAVE Solution

Ms. Trombley discussed the County of Essex annual emergency exercise and the SAVE Solutions tool that will be presented during the exercise. The Emergency Management Coordinator has extended an invitation to the ECAAC members to attend the exercise and provide feedback on the events as they unfold.

Ms. Alexander and Ms. Easterbrook advised of their interest in attending.

Ms. Trombley advised that the applications for the next term of the ECAAC will be available in the coming weeks. The application will be posted on the County of Essex website and will be circulated to ECAAC members by email as well. She expressed that it would be fantastic to see the existing members continue with their interest on the committee.

Members are selected by the County of Essex Striking Committee and advisement of their decision will be in the new year. The new term will run from 2019-2022.
